Sporting Activities in the Algarve

Golf

The Algarve is famous for its large number of excellent golf courses, and we are lucky enough to be just minutes drive away from two championship golf courses at the Amendoeira golf resort designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr and Nick Faldo.

Riding

There are a few equestrian centres across the Algarve, with the Country Riding Centre at Silves being very close to Casa Alegre. The centre caters for riders of all abilities, from complete beginner to accomplished riders. Horses can be paid for by the hour or by the day, for riding individually, in small groups or with an experienced guide.

Wind and Kite Surfing

There are numerous wind and kite surfing centres along the Algarve coast that will rent equipment. The beach at Praia Grande is a particularly good location for these activities.

Tennis

The Algarve is a great tennis destination with a wide array of facilities including at the nearby Vila Vita Parc in Porches. 

Sea Kayaking

Take an organised trip or just hire sea kayaks direct from the beach. A fun and easy way to explore the beautiful coast line - no experience needed! There are also trips from Faro which explore the parque natural da ria formosa.
