- Pera marshes (20 minutes drive), near Armaçao de Pera, offers a wide range of birds depending on the season, but includes Flamingoes, Purple Swamp Hens, Purple Herons, Little Bitterns, Bee-Eaters, Red-Necked Nightjars, Spoonbills, Black-winged Silts, Black Terns, and many more.
