Here are our booking conditions, together with some useful information about your stay. Please contact us if you have a question or wish to make a booking. - Making A Booking
Generally, we like to discuss the booking with you in person. Once confirmed over the telephone or by e-mail, we will send you our booking form (usually by email) and reserve the villa for 36 hours or for the remainder of the same working day for late availability. Please email or send back the booking form by post, together with payment of the deposit. We do not accept credit / debit cards. We request payment by cheque. You will receive written confirmation by email or by post if preferred. Once the full payment has been received, we will send you directions and discuss collection of the key. - Flights
There are now flights to Faro from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead and many cities through the UK. Please check with your local airport. Some frequently used airlines are listed in the links section. Please remember that each traveller needs his or her own passport, including young babies. - Health Considerations and Travel Insurance
Guests travelling within the EU, of which Portugal is a member country, should take with them a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each member of the family. These are available free of charge from www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk or by telephoning 0845-606-2030. The card remains valid for five years. Travel insurance is, however, also necessary, as not every eventuality can be covered by the EHIC card.
Booking Conditions - Payment
To make a booking, we require a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the agreed rent. Payment of the balance is required six weeks prior to the arrival date, when an invoice will be sent, deducting the deposit paid from the amount due. If payment is not received, this may be regarded as a cancellation, and we reserve the right to re-let the villa. If the booking is made within six weeks of the arrival date, we will require full payment immediately, which is non-refundable. - Damage Deposit
In addition to the agreed rent, payment of a £100 damage deposit is required. This will be refunded after departure if the property is left clean and intact. This does not exempt the hirer from the full cost of replacement or making good the property and its contents if there has been any damage. - Cancellation
In the event of cancellation or non-payment by the hirer within six weeks of the arrival date, the final balance of payment will remain due and any other monies paid previously will be non-refundable. We advise you to obtain appropriate holiday cancellation insurance. Should you need to cancel your booking, please inform us as soon as possible. - Arrivals and Departures
Casa Alegre will be ready for occupation at 12.00 noon on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.00 am on the morning of departure. - Accommodation
Casa Alegre may be occupied only by those guests listed on the booking form. The maximum number of guests at Casa Alegre is six adults plus one baby (travel cot provided). - Children
Children are very welcome at Casa Alegre. However, you must keep the gate between the terrace and the swimming pool area and the gates around the pool closed for the safety of any children in your party, and ensure that they are under the supervision of parents or other responsible adults at all times. - Pets
Pets are not accepted at the villa. - Security
Please lock the front and back doors and close the shutters when leaving the property unattended. The house alarm must also be set when going out. - Smoking
For the comfort of all of our guests, we have adopted a strict non smoking policy at the villa. - Visitors
Visitors are welcome by arrangement, but are not permitted to stay overnight. They must adhere to all of our terms and conditions. We cannot accept responsibility for their safety, well-being or possessions. Guests shall be held responsible for their visitors' actions, and we request that visitors leave by no later than midnight. - Fuel Charges
Casa Alegre provides electricity and gas for heating, cooking and hot water. One load of logs is provided for winter visitors, and further logs may be ordered and paid for via Lydia at Casa Antonia. - Cleaning
Casa Alegre will be fully cleaned prior to arrival, with beds made up and clean towels provided. Please bring a beach towel each if needed. Our maid, Maria de Conceicao, comes in Monday to Saturday mornings (excepting public holidays) and on change-over Sundays to clean, make beds, and do household laundry. If you are pleased with the way she has looked after you, please leave her a tip at the end of your stay (Lydia will suggest an appropriate amount.) Please leave the property as you would wish to find it. Additional charges may be made for extra cleaning should the property require it. - Damage / Breakages
Please respect the property, its fixtures fittings and contents. Any breakages, damages or stains must be reported to Lydia at Vila Antonia. - Liability
Casa Alegre cannot under any circumstances accept responsibility for loss or damage to the possessions of its guests, their cars (including contents) or for any personal injury. Guests use the local amenities including the swimming pool at their own risk. Should the terms and conditions of Casa Alegre be in any way breached (confirmed or otherwise), the owner reserves the right to enter the property and / or terminate the contract without prejudice. - Unforseen Circumstances
In the unlikely event that Casa Alegre is unable to provide the accommodation or facilities as stated, liability is restricted to the return of monies paid only. - Ongoing Improvements
We reserves the right to make changes to the property, including any relevant enhancement to décor, furniture, fixtures and fittings, etc. We will endeavour to ensure that all changes are in keeping with the style of the property. We shall not be liable for any such alterations to the property.
